CAREER SUMMARY

Scott Caswell, SIOR is a Principal and Managing Director of Lee & Associates-LA North/Ventura, Inc. One of the region’s highest producing brokers, he has been assisting landlords, developers, tenants and business owners with their industrial and commercial real estate needs for more than 35 years.

Mr. Caswell’s personal ownership, development and management of commercial property and the complexities which come with same give him the unique aspect of seeing through the same eyes as his clients. All of this experience and knowledge in dealing with all the challenges found in today’s market provide his clients with expertise, sound judgment and a results-oriented approach which have earned him a distinguished following of clients including some of the largest property owners, investors and businesses in the region.

In Scott’s opinion, expertise and commitment are not only based upon the size of transactions but also efforts and ability to overcome obstacles where others fail. Below are a few of the most notable transactions he found challenging this year:

• Siegel & Associates: Sale of two significant industrial parks both substantially exceeding ownership value and expectations.

• Jocott Brands: Consolidated Jocott Brands multi-location operation to a single, 63,000 sq. ft. distribution center valued at $5.4 million while subleasing the facilities remaining.

• Orly International: Representing Orly in the acquisition of multiple lots, requiring rezoning and working with the City of Los Angeles to abandon the alley and cul-de-sac to enrich the size while simultaneously swapping one lot owned by a Union for an alternative lot to better configure the site. Thereafter sold the entire package for a greatly enhanced value.

• Northpark Industrial Center: Negotiated terms with Colorlab Inc. of Sublease and New Lease for a 50,000 sq. ft. marquee building to the center.

• Successfully created a petition concerning the homeless crisis on behalf of over 700 frustrated commercial owners and tenants and thereafter successfully lobbied the Los Angeles City Council to implement changes that effectively alleviated the problems experienced by the business park tenants and owners. The effort was widely broadcast over major television and radio stations and covered in newspapers and online media.

• Recognized as a Gold Medal Winner in the 2019 San Fernando Valley Business Journal’s “Commercial Real Estate Awards”.

Over the last two decades, Mr. Caswell has closed more than 17,000,000 S.F. of transactions valued in excess of $725 million and is widely acknowledged as one of the premier brokers in the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas where his work is focused.

CAREER HISTORY

Mr. Caswell was elected Managing Director and a Member of the Board of Directors of Lee & Associates-LA North/Ventura offices in 2019.

Prior to joining Lee & Associates, Mr. Caswell spent 29 years with Delphi Business Properties where he earned Broker of the Year honors nearly every year since 1989. In 2017 he was honored by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal for executing the “Best Industrial Lease of the Year.”

He began his commercial real estate career as a real estate analyst for Ashwill Burke & Company while working his way through college. Upon graduation, he was elevated to broker status and earned Rookie of the Year honors competing against all 13 of the company’s offices at the time.
